To make it easier to get an online driver’s license (SIM), here are the steps you can follow using the Korlantas Polri digital app. Hope you find it helpful!
The first step in applying for a SIM online is to download the Digital Korlantas Polri application, which is available on both Android and iOS.
After downloading, you need to complete the registration process as follows:
Open the downloaded application and register using your active phone number.
Verify your identity using your National Identification Number or NIK as stated on your e-KTP.
Make sure to enter an active email address so that you can receive notifications and confirmation messages.
In addition to registration and verification, you must prepare several required documents to apply for a SIM, such as:
e-KTP or electronic ID card.
A medical certificate or physical and mental health, available at public health centers, clinics, or other services partnered with Korlantas.
A psychological test result or psychotest, which can be taken online via registered platforms.
A passport photo with a blue background.
A digital signature.
Once your account is active and verified, follow these steps:
Click the SIM menu in the application.
Select the New SIM Registration.
Choose the type of SIM you want to apply for. SIM A for cars or SIM C for motorcycles.
Fill in your personal and vehicle information accurately.
Upload the required documents you prepared earlier.
Select the SIM administration office or SATPAS where you will take the driving test.
Complete the payment for the SIM application using one of the available methods.
After completing the payment, the next step is to take the theory test through the application. To complete it successfully, keep these tips in mind:
Study the basic materials on traffic signs, road markings, proper driving etiquette, and traffic violation penalties.
Answer the test questions carefully and pay attention to the allotted time.
Once you pass the theory test, you can choose a date for the practical driving test.
If you pass the theory test, the next step is to schedule a practical test at the selected SATPAS location.
Open the Digital Korlantas Polri application to choose an available date for the test.
Arrive at the SATPAS office on the appointed date and time.
Bring the required documents, such as online payment proof, original ID card or KTP, medical certificate, and psychotest result.
During the practical test, you will be assessed on specific driving skills depending on the SIM type:
SIM C test for a motorcycle usually includes zig-zag routes, figure-eight turns, sudden braking, and balance control.
SIM A test for a car usually includes reverse parking, uphill driving, narrow roads, and braking.
Once you successfully pass both the theory and practical tests, the online SIM application process is complete.
The final step is to wait for the printing process of your driving license, then collect your physical SIM directly at the designated SATPAS office.
